Overview
Biomedical engineers are the experts of device care — they are responsible for keeping medical equipment healthy, safe, reliable and cost effective. Technology advancements are redefining healthcare – creating a new environment characterised by the integration of engineering disciplines with medical technology and clinical expertise. To better prepare engineers for the future of healthcare the gap between biomedical principles and clinical applications must be bridged.
Completing the Picture recognises that caring for and managing medical equipment goes beyond workshop repair and maintenance, making it crucial that engineers incorporate the understanding of clinical issues into their professional development plan.
Completing the Picture has grown in popularity since its inception in 2002 — and is now firmly fixed in the biomedical engineering calendar as an event not to miss! To provide access to more biomedical engineers Completing the Picture is now held twice a year with a symposium in Central England and another in Scotland.
