Colin joined the army in 1989 aged just fifteen and went on to pass selection first time into the SAS at only 23. Colin was fortunate enough to have been involved in some of the more high profile and daring missions of the recent period. Only a handful of men have been involved in hostage negotiations, hostage rescue and been a hostage themselves. Colin waded through swamps in Sierra Leone to rescue hostages in an operation so dangerous they nicknamed it Operation Certain Death. He was also the first Special Forces sniper on the scene when a hijacked flight arrived at Stansted and lasted over 4 days where all the hostages were rescued safely. Colin later found himself taken hostage in a mission to look after MI6 out in Iraq.
Colin was stripped naked, blindfolded, handcuffed and subjected to mock executions before his eventual rescue. Shortly after Colin did an exchange programme with both Delta Force and Seal Team 6 and went on to have a successful career in both TV, book and gaming industry. He holds First Class MA (Hons) in History and is an ambassador for a number of charities including founding his own, Who Dares Cares.
