Ian Coe is the Chief Nursing Information Officer at the West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. He leads the team that are responsible for delivering digital technology solutions that support the improvement of patient care pathways. Ian is an integral part of the wider digital team providing strategic clinical leadership and oversight. However he is also just as happy with his ‘sleeves rolled up’ leading on implementation projects that are actively improving patient pathways.
With more than 25 years of nursing experience within both the NHS and overseas he is able to provide a critical clinical perspective to the design and delivery of digital healthcare solutions at his organisation and works closely with technology providers to ensure that future developments meet the needs of patients within the acute care sector.
The West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is rated as ‘outstanding’ by the CQC and the commitment to use digital technology to enable patient safety, quality and improvement has resulted in numerous accolades for the care and treatment provided for their patients. In addition, the organisation was recognised as being at the forefront of the digital revolution within the NHS and was one of the first Trusts to be Global Digital Exemplar status
